Kentucky State Park employees Jeff Raines of Bowen, and Gary Johnson and Charlie Rowe, both from Winchester, made improvements to the original trail to Natural Bridge on Sept. 28, 1987. The repairs to the trail, which has been in use since 1930, were to improve passage and stop erosion. The materials were brought in by National Guard helicopters.
