An advertisement in the Sept. 22, 1968, Lexington Herald-Leader for Paul Miller Ford. The ad said the Lexington dealer was marking down some inventory to make room for newer models. Some of the cars advertised were a Mustang convertible for $2,799.03 and a Thunderbird for $4,913.83. According to an inflation calculator, the Mustang was listed for the equivalent of $19,442.72 in today’s dollars. The dealership’s website currently lists 2016 Mustang hard-tops for $24,255.
