Georgia safety Will Muschamp tackled Kentucky sophomore running back Moe Williams during the Bulldogs’ 34-30 win Oct. 22, 1994, in Lexington. Muschamp, who has built a reputation for his strong defenses, is the head coach at South Carolina, which hosts Kentucky on Saturday. During his playing career at Georgia, Muschamp earned his way from walk-on to scholarship player by the spring of his redshirt freshman season and eventually was named co-captain as a senior. His 22-year coaching career includes stops at Eastern Kentucky, LSU and the NFL’s Miami Dolphins. He has been a college head coach for five years, three at Florida and two at South Carolina. Despite the close game with Georgia, Kentucky would finish the season 1-10. Their lone win was against Louisville in the first game of the season. For the year, the Cats were outscored 405-149.
