Bruce Sliker was the last passenger to board a regularly scheduled DC-3 operating through Lexington’s Blue Grass Field, March 14, 1962. Piedmont Airlines Flight 355 was traveling to Cincinnati. The DC-3’s served as the workhorse of civilian and military flying for more than two decades and Piedmont was replacing them with Martin 404s and the jet-prop F-27.
