First Lady Pat Nixon waved to the crowd after she and President Richard M. Nixon and other dignitaries, including Kentucky Governor Louie B. Nunn, left, arrived at Blue Grass Field March 17, 1971. President Nixon and the First Lady traveled to Lexington to attend the funeral of Whitney Young, Jr., executive director of the National Urban League.
