In exercises at University High School on April 10, 1946, tribute was paid to the 200 former University High and training school students who participated in World War II and a plaque bearing their names was dedicated. Ginger, school director, who accepted the plaque. Today we observe Memorial Day, a federal holiday for remembering the people who died while serving in our country’s armed forces.
