These buildings facing North Broadway between Main and Short streets, seen in January 1978, would become part of the block that made up Victorian Square, a commercial district that is on the National Register of Historic Places. Tenants on this block in 1978 included Pinkston’s Hardware and Service, at right. Next was Pinskton’s Turf & Leather Goods, and then, Cox’s Hotel. The building on the corner of West Main was part of H.H. Leet Furniture Co. It became the home of DeSha’s Restaurant and now houses Urban Outfitters. Click on the image for a closer look.
