Marty Jo Payton of Eastern Kentucky University got an assist from pageboys who held her train after she was crowned queen of the Mountain Laurel Festival in Pineville on May 30, 1970. This year, the 86th Kentucky Mountain Laurel Festival ends Sunday in Pineville. This year’s queen coronation was held Saturday. Photo by Tom Woods II | Staff
