Kentucky’s first Sweet Sixteen game under John Calipari, 2010

Posted on March 22, 2018 | in Uncategorized | by

University of Kentucky coach John Calipari talked to his team during a timeout of its NCAA Tournament Sweet Sixteen game against Cornell, March 25, 2010 at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse. Kentucky, the No. 1 seed of the East Region, beat No. 12 Cornell, 62-45, giving the Cats their 35th win of the season and setting up a date with West Virginia in the Regional Finals. This was Calipari’s first season guiding the Cats. In nine seasons under Calipari, UK has advanced to the Sweet Sixteen of the NCAA tourney seven times. That’s more than any other team during that time and the Wildcats are a perfect 6-0 in those games. Tonight they will try to make it 7-0 when they take on Kansas State.
