The Association for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women was a national organization for women’s collegiate athletics for 11 years, starting in 1971. It folded after the NCAA began offering championships in women’s sports. This season’s women’s team will gather Monday night to watch the NCAA selection show and find out who and where they will play in the post-season. Herald-Leader Archive Photo
