An empty 18-wheel horse van struck the rear of a car on Broadway as it approached Main Street and careened out of control onto the sidewalk of Victorian Square and into the wall of deSha’s restaurant, injuring two people, on April 15, 1986. Police said a woman who was seated at a table near a window was slightly injured as she scrambled out of the way. The driver of the car also suffered minor injuries. A display window at Ritzy Rags, a dress shop next to deSha’s, also was damaged. Photo by Ron Garrison | Staff
