On April 7, 1956, officers raided ten Lexington establishments in a mass clean-up of places believed to be illegally possessing and selling beer and whisky. Moonshine, beer, whisky and a .38 caliber pistol were among the items confiscated by the four state, 13 local and five federal officers who participated in the operation.
