A kitten entered a sewer through a manhole on Newtown Pike, couldn’t get out and retreated to the most inaccessible spot when, alerted by local residents, city police, maintenance men and neighbors spent the morning of May 22, 1966 trying to coax the young feline from it’s hiding place.
