Lane has been the coach at Transylvania University in Lexington since 2001. The Lexington native was an assistant at Transey under his college coach and father Don Lane during the 1990-91 season. For the next 10 years Lane was an assistant at five different Division I schools, including this one year at South Carolina. While coaching at Transey, he is the only coach in league history to win HCAC Coach of the Year four times and is the fastest coach to 200 wins in schooll history.
