Joe Bologna’s restaurant at East Maxwell Street and South Limestone in December 1988, when Bologna announced plans to move his popular Italian restaurant, which had been at that address since 1973, to the former temple of the Ohavay Zion Synagogue, 120 West Maxwell Street. Bologna said he wanted a larger restaurant. The new Joe Bologna’s was to have 26 booths and seat about 200 people. The original restaurant had 11 booths and seated 68 people.
